Private Network: 5G

Poland has piloted the first Open RAN-enabled 5G private network in the country. The project aims to explore the capabilities and benefits of Open RAN technology in the context of private networks. Open RAN allows for greater flexibility and interoperability by separating hardware and software components, enabling operators to mix and match different vendors’ equipment. The pilot project involves collaboration between several companies, including T-Mobile, Benetel, Hubraum, and IS-Wireless. The initiative is expected to provide valuable insights into the feasibility and advantages of Open RAN for private networks, potentially paving the way for its wider adoption in Poland and beyond.
